Round trip “Discover Africa” – the programme:

Discover Africa – The Round-Trip Programme

Upon arrival, take the opportunity to unwind and relax at the beach on Sunday before embarking on our eleven-day adventure:

Monday to Friday: The West Coast Exploration
Travel along the scenic West Coast to the renowned fishing town of Elmina, home to a historic Portuguese slave trade castle and a charming palm beach resort. On Tuesday, visit the nearby Kakum National Rainforest Park, where you will spend an unforgettable “jungle night” in a secure treehouse. Early the next morning, experience the breathtaking Canopy Walk along suspended walkways connecting giant rainforest trees, followed by an informative hiking trail.

Continue to the harbor city of Takoradi, passing vast coconut and rubber tree plantations along the way. Spend the night at a stunning beachside hotel in Axim. On Thursday, embark on a canoe excursion to Nzulezo, a unique village built on stilts over the majestic Amansuri Lake. You may choose either a day trip or an overnight stay in a traditional KASAPA-owned stilt house. Return to Cape Coast on Friday, staying overnight in a comfortable guesthouse. Visit Cape Coast Castle’s museum to learn about Ghana’s history and explore a vibrant crafts market.

Saturday to Monday: Immersion in Mesomagor Village Life
Spend the weekend in Mesomagor, a remote cocoa-farming village. Experience traditional processing of palm nuts, cassava, and cocoa, enjoy fresh palm wine, and witness a captivating performance of the village’s bamboo orchestra, accompanied by dancers and storytelling. This lively and humorous evening of entertainment offers a deep dive into authentic village life. After lunch on Monday, we continue our journey.

Monday to Thursday: Kumasi and Beyond
Our next stop is the enchanting Bosomtwi Crater Lake, where we will stay for three nights in a picturesque lodge. On Tuesday, relax by the serene lake or visit Bonwire, a village renowned for its traditional weaving. Explore the UNESCO-listed Fetish Shrine in Ejisu-Besease. Wednesday takes us to Kumasi, where we will have ample time to wander through the vast and bustling Central Market, the largest in West Africa—and explore the Cultural Centre. On Thursday, we return to the KASAPA Centre.

Friday to Saturday: Exploring Accra and Departure
On Friday, choose between a sightseeing tour of Accra or a visit to the nearby fishing community of Nyanyano. Accompanied by a knowledgeable KASAPA local guide, explore the village’s schools, health posts, picturesque harbor with colorful fishing canoes, salt ponds, local pubs, and an ancient tree linked to the community’s founding myth. In the evening, transfer to Accra airport for your return flight on Saturday.
