Four to five days of instruction per week, consisting of 1.5 hours of dance, 2 hours of drumming /percussion, or (by arrangement when booking!) 1 hour of xylophone playing or drumming with bamboo chimes. Two days per week, there is also 1 hour of singing/rhythm . (For the exact number of instruction days, see the table below.) Those who would like to expand this program can book additional private lessons on-site (approx. €6-10 per hour).
Even if you’re not equally interested in drumming and dancing, we highly recommend taking classes in both styles: As a dancer, you’ll understand the rhythm better if you also try your hand at the drums, and drummers can experience the complex voices of the various instruments in a completely different way if they follow them while dancing. The dance classes are always accompanied by a full drum orchestra.

A day trip to Accra can be arranged upon request
To get to know our local community: longer tour through Nyanyano
Two-day excursion along Ghana’s west coast to the fishing town of Elmina , with its famous Portuguese trading and slave fortress. Usually, an overnight stay in the jungle in a well-secured treehouse in Kakum National Park (otherwise, in a nearby hotel); the following morning, a suspension bridge walk through the jungle canopy and a forest nature trail; optionally, a museum visit and craft market in Cape Coast (during the second week)
In the third week, you ‘ll take a trip to the cocoa farming village of Mesomagor, about 1.5 hours north of Cape Coast (two overnight stays). Here, you’ll learn about rural production methods: You’ll learn how oil palm fruits, cassava roots, and cocoa beans are processed, taste freshly tapped palm wine, and socialize with the villagers. Mesomagor boasts a fantastic dance troupe, a bamboo orchestra, and a captivating storytelling evening full of traditional stories—pure village life! (One or two days of classes are canceled for this village excursion.)
Smaller excursions in the area surrounding the KASAPA Centre are also possible on class days (e.g., to the fishing port of Nyanyano, to a nearby market, to Accra), with local accompaniment if desired; participation in social celebrations may also be possible.
